This is likely "the" book on the subject: link Read it and loved it. Great read for those interested in this campaign. What I found most interesting was the fact that the vaunted Indians had no idea where his 6,000 man army was coming from until Grant's ill fated attack that September tipped them off that there was a huge entrenched camp at Fort Ligonier (though not called that at the time). Interesting operational and tactical insights and does a good job of detailing some of the troop combat levels ("Royal" Maryland Forces, very good, PA troops pretty bad). A bit pricey for a paperback, but if you are interested in this theater of war, this is a must have. |

Doug Cubbison does stellar work. He is a good story teller in addition to being a detailed researcher. |
