Do very odd or unusual rules mechanics weird you out?

Not usually. If I can understand the historical problem they're coping with, and it's appropriate for whatever level of command I'm representing, I'm OK. We may have different notions of "odd or unusual" of course. I should note that I run screaming in terror from some very common rule mechanics. My nightmare game involves a command roll--can't move if you rolled the wrong number--a single die combat resolution and the maintenance of a roster for each unit. Each of these is quite popular, though I've never seen all three mass for an attack. |
