Hello Everybody,
I have noticed that the above mentioned site has not been available for some days.
Anyone knows what happened? In my opinion it is one of the main sources of Napoleonic information and it would be a real pity if it would close for good.

britishbulldog11 Mar 2018 11:35 a.m. PST

I do not know why it is closed but agree, it will be a shame if the site closes permanently. I use it often as a source of info.

Artilleryman11 Mar 2018 12:39 p.m. PST

I hope that this is a temporary glitch. This is such a good site. Some of the images are still available on Google Images.

celtcraze11 Mar 2018 1:01 p.m. PST

Yep, just noticed last night. Was looking for artillery info for British batteries.
This site is indispensable!

Perhaps it's being updated because, to be honest, it needs it bad!

Paul :)

Sharpe5211 Mar 2018 1:36 p.m. PST

Let's hope it's just an update or host change.
I am wondering if the owner could be able to offer a PDF or something similar with the site content for sale.

Let us face it….how many of us would pay for access to this if needed? I certainly would………

Summat wrong for sure…..

Sharpe5211 Mar 2018 1:49 p.m. PST

Maybe I wouldn't like to pay a periodical fee but perhaps paying a reasonable sum for a PDF could be acceptable
At least for me:-)

If nothing else, I;d be happy to host over it at for free….

When I saw the topic I thought "Mont Saint Jean Site" it was about a visitor center and museum. About half why down I realize it was a website. It is really early in the morning. I need some coffee.

This message, dated 7 March 2018, is from an archived page:

"Bonjour à tous et bienvenue sur ce site.

"Il est actif depuis août 2005. Je le réalise pour présenter mon travail de recherche. J'espère que cette visite vous plaira et que vous trouverez des informations dignes d'intérêt. Cliquez bien sur les symboles dans les organigrammes mais aussi sur les boutons "Uniformes" des descriptifs d'unités pour obtenir les planches d'uniformes déjà réalisées."

Doesn't seem like there was an intention to shut down the site.

Someone must know this chap, Alexis Cabaret, personally, after all this time.

attilathepun4712 Mar 2018 9:09 a.m. PST

If I may make a suggestion, someone who is fluent in French might try switching their search engine to return results only in French, and then try a search with the official website title to see what sort of chatter may turn up on French forums about this. I'm afraid my own French isn't good enough.

Mike the Analyst12 Mar 2018 9:32 a.m. PST

Hmm, the archive site seems to contain the structure and information but not the plates unfortunately.

Sorely missed hope it comes back.

Facebook?……..seems he is on it but that is a complete mystery to me. Tried French language search without success.

Nothing since 2015 on FB

Wayback Machine shows no activity in 2018.

Checking various links on that site show the webpages but no pictures of the uniforms.

IIRC this has happened before. Unfortunately, owing to the new 'feature' on TMP I was unable to search this site directly. Similarly my efforts using Google turned up nothing.

marshalGreg13 Mar 2018 6:33 a.m. PST

I used it a week ago and it worked fine.
THis is what I see now

Yes hopefully this will be temperory.

Oliver Schmidt13 Mar 2018 6:44 a.m. PST

Seems he has re-arranged his site.

Playing around a bit with the URL, I found:  <= working

He hasn't yet updated his main site

which still points to

AuvergneWargamer13 Mar 2018 7:01 a.m. PST

A great shame as it was so very useful for troops numbers as well as uniforms!

Marc at work13 Mar 2018 7:27 a.m. PST

Oliver – yes, your first link works perfectly for me. Phew…
