So after resisting temptation for a couple of years I have finally given in and launched a new project for the 1812 retreat from Moscow. Hoping to make it work both for Black Powder and Sharp Practice, some thoughts on the blog. See what you think. gapagnw.blogspot.co.uk gapagnw.blogspot.co.uk

Sabots and magnets are your answer. link

I am happy basing them in fours for the most part, I am not sure I actually need them individually based for Sharpe Practice as lon as the figures are in the f=right numbers, so 4 to a base gives me 8 figure units. Remains to be seen if I can actually make that work, but ideally I want bases in some case to be mini dioramas so sabots perhaps not the solution, thanks though. |

SP requires casualty removal but you can always use casualty rings or other markers. |

Thanks gents, Jim I have used markers for SP with my Carlists which are based for Black Powder so that is the direction I ma planning. A way to go yet though, few basing hurdles to overcome before I am happy. |

They look great! The Russians really give a great impression. I think you painted them better than they were actually sculpted! By the way, Russians typically had one-finger wool mittens for cold weather (colder than when the greatcoats are pinned back as per the scuplts in your photo) |

Cheers La Breton, I may need to suspend belief and leave them in either flesh or fingered gloves rather than greenstuff the mittens. Appreciate the feedback. |
