I'm running a game at Cold Wars in a couple of weeks. It will be using the Frostgrave/Ghost Archipelago rules but with a different setting. This is The School of Night, an arcane war is being waged in Elizabethan England. For this particular game, the warbands are searching for a lost manuscript of Dr. Faustus by Christopher Marlowe that can open a portal to hell. I've more details on my blog:

Studying it for 'A" level was a "portal to hell."

A beautiful game, and an imaginative setting.

Will there be singing of "Greensleaves"?

Roderick Robertson Fezian06 Mar 2018 11:28 a.m. PST

There should always be a rendition of Greensleeves. How would you know you were in Elizabethan England, otherwise?

What a great setting for Frostgrave! Fantastic board!

Oh, my!

Man that looks FANTASTIC and PURE FUN! Will you be allotting bonus victory points for players who recite Elizabethan verse in iambic pentameter?!?!

bogdanwaz08 Mar 2018 6:34 a.m. PST

Thanks for all the kind words. No Greensleeves, it's so 1520s. Players will be able to reroll bad dice rolls if they can recite a few lines from Shakespeare/Marlowe, other than "to be or not to be…"

Winston Smith08 Mar 2018 10:06 a.m. PST

"Is it not passing brave to be a King?
And to ride in triumph through Persepolis?"

Lovely!

Nice, but the table needs to be bigger.

John/Winston & Jeff: "It's _good_ to be da king!"

"To be a King is halfe to be a God."

"A cat can look at a king, ye know!"
