Hey all!

What are some tanks that you wish they produced in 15mm (or even 28 or 10?) Like… the esoteric ones that never got produced but that you wish you could add to your force?

surdu200505 Mar 2018 6:16 a.m. PST

I would like to get the Russian T-28 (three turrets) and T-35 (five turrets) in 1:48 for skirmish gaming. I have them from Skytrex in metal for 20mm, but I mostly play 28mm for skirmish games these days. These two vehicles in resin or 3D printed would be great so that they wouldn't cause players to get a hernia moving them around the table.

I don't THINK anyone makes the Vickers E tank for Poland 39 in 1:48.

While not exactly on-topic, I would like to seem some 28mm early War Americans and British for the Pacific.

Vigilant05 Mar 2018 7:23 a.m. PST

Buck, shame you use 1:48 because Company B and JTFM do these in 1:56 scale.

I'd like a 1:56 scale Murder IFV (Bundeswehr, not the WW2 SP gun).

Wackmole905 Mar 2018 7:40 a.m. PST

us combat cars from mid 1930's

surdu200505 Mar 2018 8:24 a.m. PST

Right. I really like the look of 1:48 vehicles with 28mm figures. See link

Yes, my decision to go with 1:48 has made life a little hard. I have been able to get some nice 1:48 French and light German vehicles from Shapeways. All my Polish vehicles are Warlord.

Fred Cartwright05 Mar 2018 8:31 a.m. PST

Some of the esoteric stuff is appearing on Shapeways now. I got a Marmon Herrington CTLS-4 in 28mm and I have seen early US combat cars on there. Things I haven't seen in 1/56 are a FlakPanzer I and AufklärungsPanzer 38t. For moderns there is loads of stuff. A Boxer APC, late Mark British Centurions, lots of French kit.

Battle Phlox05 Mar 2018 10:17 a.m. PST

SU-122 in 28mm, I'm sure somebody made it some where. It just seems to elude me.

Bashytubits05 Mar 2018 10:50 a.m. PST

Sheesh you guys, I make practically all of those in 3D and I can do them in many different scale 1/285 through 1/48.

Here.

I have 2 of these for sale in the marketplace right now for $15 USD each. That is a 1/56 scale model or 28mm.

I can do a Marder 1A2 IFV in 1/56.
PM me if you are really interested or look at my e mail in the marketplace and send me a note.

Here are some 1/56 scale modern soviet equipment.

A 1/56 scale Type 89 Japanese tank from WW2, I do not recall anyone making these either.

Hopefully you get the idea. I got 3d printers and files, more than likely I can scratch your itch.

fingolfen05 Mar 2018 11:25 a.m. PST

Unfortunately the resolution on a 3D printer is just not where it needs to be for high quality miniatures in 15mm scale – or even 1/56… I've been waiting for them to get there, but they're still not there yet.

Bashytubits05 Mar 2018 11:31 a.m. PST

That is merely a matter of opinion. Truly superior quality is available in DLP and SLA 3d printing but the costs are higher.

Lord Ashram05 Mar 2018 12:20 p.m. PST

Oh, there certainly are printers that can do it…

If you are going to Cold Wars especially you can give it a look…

:)

SBminisguy05 Mar 2018 12:22 p.m. PST

How about a 1/48th scale P.1000 Ratte Landkreuzer? grin

leidang05 Mar 2018 12:45 p.m. PST

15mm condor APC's for Mogadishu

Bashytubits05 Mar 2018 1:47 p.m. PST

SBminisguy, I CAN do that, but it will cost ya! wink evil grin

BuckeyeBob05 Mar 2018 4:03 p.m. PST

Battle Phlox
SU-122 1/48 Tamiya makes these. Some on ebay currently
auction

Bashytubits05 Mar 2018 5:36 p.m. PST

Oh, I can do 15mm Condor APCs as well.

Vigilant06 Mar 2018 7:34 a.m. PST

I agree with findolfin, the quality of 3D printed models is not good enough yet to put them on the table with resin or metal models. If all your vehicles are 3D printed then it might be ok, but mixing them doesn't work. Also the ridge lines caused by the printing make applying decals or painting markings difficult from my experience of working on some models for a friend. My opinion only, not saying that these are bad or wrong, just not compatible with other forms of manufacture.

TheWhiteDog06 Mar 2018 8:43 a.m. PST

I'd really love a detailed WZ 28 armored car, for my interwar Poles in 15mm.

Battle Phlox06 Mar 2018 12:21 p.m. PST

Thanks BuckeyeBob

I have an SLA printer and the quality is indistinguishable from resin. It's really that good, but substantially pricier. I also own prosumer fdm printers that produce nice quality prints, but they don't hold a candle to what SLA can do.

Lion in the Stars13 Mar 2018 11:10 a.m. PST

MBT-70s in 1/100 scale.

William Ulsterman13 Mar 2018 2:25 p.m. PST

A proper Belgian T-13 'tank destroyer' please.

And don't remind me that QRF makes one in 15mm as I do not like it. Nor do I have much time for the offering from Gaming Models on this subject.
