Hi Is there a company which makes terrain suitable and 'legal' for 15mm dba ready painted flocked etc? Or plain for me to work on? And the same for 2x2 terrain mat? Ideally, it would all match in terms of colour and style. I'd like to get this sorted quickly and easily with a minimum of making. I'm in the UK but not averse to ordering further. |

Hobhood4, You may wish to post your request to the Scratch Building board at the Fanaticus Forum. You just may find someone nearby who can sell or make the terrain pieces you need. fanaticus.boards.net/forum |

Just thought I'd mention that in DBA 3, a board is no longer necessarily 2x2 feet anymore. In fact, thanks to the more generous movement allowances and far more restrictive setup rules in the third edition, we find we get a much better game on a 30" x 30" board. |

I will give another opinion; that the original 24" x 24" is fine for playing DBA 3. My local group prefers the original size as it gives a much better game than larger sizes. Less space for elements to run away in. Set up, maneuver, get into close combat, finish game, all in an hour :) |

Interesting opinion Bobgnar. Can't really argue with the "less space to run away" observation! We just found the less than one foot centre unrestricted deployment area for some armies, or even narrower when terrain creates bottlenecks, meant either deep deployments in columns, or actually a slower game, as players would set up further back to avoid the terrain, and then try to maneuver around into the outside edges' areas. The latter situation would often result in an interesting game I admit, almost an escalating battle scenario sort of thing, like a Cynoscephalae. Still, no matter which size board you use – and perhaps try both – DBA 3 always gives a cracking good game! |
