How many times have you gamed the Battle of Trafalgar?

21eRegt03 Mar 2018 7:45 p.m. PST

Never.

jowady03 Mar 2018 8:06 p.m. PST

Dozens

Winston Smith03 Mar 2018 9:22 p.m. PST

Twice.
Once with a boardgame many years ago.
And once with miniatures.

I don't remember much about either game, not even whose side I had.

Bashytubits03 Mar 2018 10:01 p.m. PST

I want to but not even once.

David Manley04 Mar 2018 12:23 a.m. PST

Trafalgar and Waterloo could be my annual games

Bashytubits04 Mar 2018 4:37 p.m. PST

Next you need to ask if you have gamed the battle of Salamis. Triremes ramming each other, now that's a naval battle.

Kevin in Albuquerque04 Mar 2018 8:50 p.m. PST

Only once.

Lascaris04 Mar 2018 9:58 p.m. PST

Twice, once with WS&IM and once with miniatures at historicon

JimSelzer04 Mar 2018 11:04 p.m. PST

I think we did with the old Battle line? WS&IM but that was over 40 years ago so lets face it has been too many beers later so I am unsure

langobard05 Mar 2018 2:39 a.m. PST

Never. Unrepentant landlubber that I am, the only naval gaming I do is age of steam and later :)

Karellian Knight05 Mar 2018 6:00 a.m. PST

Once.

TMPWargamerabbit05 Mar 2018 11:06 a.m. PST

Used the old Wooden Ship Iron Men game years ago as mentioned by J Selzer above. Never with miniatures.

I loved WS&IM back in the day, but Trafalgar?

I'm seriously asking here – how long did that take? More than a day?

Supercilius Maximus08 Mar 2018 3:39 a.m. PST

I used WS&IM for a solo re-enactment. I seem to recall giving up after the two leading ships of the British columns got sunk whilst still some way off.

(Anyone else consider it ironic that the British should beat the French by attacking a line with columns>)
