Would anyone have references for these (ideally officers as well)? Not getting far by myself!

Cheers

not surprised since they probably had so little there

The Cleves-Berg artillery battalion was composed of one foot artillery company and one horse artillery company supported by one artillery train company. Additionally there was a composite company of sappers, miners, and pontonniers in the battalion.

The artillerymen were uniformed in the French style, the basic color being dark blue. Both foot and horse artillery wore shakos in the French style.

The horse artillery wore dark blue breeches, had red plumes on their shakos in full dress. The breeches had a red stripe, the facing color for both foot and horse artillery being red. In the field the horse artillery wore grey overalls with red stripes.

They either wore a hussar-style dolman or a long-tailed coat as the French horse artillery. Officers wore the same uniform with gold enhancements.

If I find anything more I'll post it.

Many thanks for those post B198 and vW. I had assumed what you disclosed about the HA uniforms, given the French influence on the Berg FA uniforms, but this is an era where assumptions are not easily made!

Cheers JJ

Hello PofE

Just wanted to let you know your posting was very much appreciated as well. I had found the Knoetel plate but not the histofig which gives me some further ideas.

Many thanks JJ
