Relevant because ……..

Because he fought a protracted guerrilla war against the French invaders and their Neopolitan lackeys in southern Italy

What does this have to do with anything Napoleonic?

M C MonkeyDew28 Feb 2018 1:32 p.m. PST

er…see above. He fought an insurgency against the brutal French occupation from 1798 to 1806.

Surely I am not the only one who knows about the guerilla war in southern Italy?

Toads fighting frogs as gorillas?

M C MonkeyDew28 Feb 2018 2:25 p.m. PST

: ) Actually the Gorillas fight alongside Hares for the Prinz of Orangs of the United Provinzes of Fruit and Veg…

Mind you I use historical rules 99% of the time but prefer this alternate view of the protagonists.

So what, realistically, this Prussian guy does not risk his entire army (indeed you might argue his kingdom) by marching across a potentially flanking unit (Grouchy) to aid an ally (DoW)?

This ally was unable to support him 48 hours earlier, but he will now move in the opposite direction, away from his own supply lines, against all the advice of this chap named after a later Kriegsmarine Battlecruiser?

His army is strung out in chaos, on muddy roads, which could have been blocked by a dozen nuns with rosary beads….but instead met those Marbot Hussars who did not even enter those woods.

and we call you folk fantastists…….

Trust me, 18.06.15, this toad bloke would not have even been noticed on the ridge. I suspect DoW would have handed over the Netherlands cavalry to him……….
