I figures some of you Medieval or Renaissance gamers and heraldry aficionados would know what style is the white cross on this 1922 separatist flag: link link
Thanks Dan |

Looks like an element from the flag of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Maybe the Teutonic Knights, as well? |

At first I thought it could be some Templar variant, like the one here. But the perpendicular tips/ends look much plainer than this. Dan

In heraldic terminology the cross is a cross potent. It was the arms of the kings of Jerusalem, though they used a gold cross on silver, not white on black. I believe it has been quite often used in more recent times by sundry catholic organisations. |

It is a cross potent. It was sometimes used by the Teutonic Order (at times with a different cross superimposed) but has been used by many organisations, often Catholic. |

Cross potent Dan, otherwise known as a crutch cross. In the ECW Sir Arthur Aston used one on his cavalry cornet then spookily he fell of his horse trying to show off to some ladies at Bullingdon Green in Oxford and broke his leg so badly it had to be chopped off. Later he commanded Royalist Irish besieged at Drogheda where the Parliamentarian troops are said to have bludgeoned him to death with his own wooden leg, after being disappointed that it wasn't stuffed full of gold coins as they'd been led to believe. |

Hey Cacique you sneaking into my Mom's Church? They have a statue (or Idol)of that drawing in my Mom's Parish Church no fooling. 1st time I saw it from across the room I thought it was a centaur. Guess my current fantasy fanboy mindset over rode my Orthodox Roman Catholic upbringing AGAIN |

Lol. Guess what? I looked up "cross potent" and this came up. link link Weird finding, creepy even, but interesting nonetheless. :) Dan PS. I also found this, a "croix hosteliers Jerusalem":

PPS. I should have looked a little harder. There's an article here that clearly identifies the flag as a "Cross Potent": link link Thanks guys!!! Dan |

The black and white is in Hospitaller colors. One of my college girlfriends was Catholic. She gave me a Jerusalem cross for Christmas. It looked like this but had four similar but smaller crosses in each quadrant. |

There are decals for many of those … and seem properly ID'd to me. May be worth a look … link |

"Hey Cacique you sneaking into my Mom's Church? They have a statue (or Idol)of that drawing in my Mom's Parish Church no fooling. 1st time I saw it from across the room I thought it was a centaur." You're referring to the lamb with a flag image? That's the Paschal Lamb, one of the most ubiquitous Christian symbols. It can probably be found somewhere in every church in christendom. It was even the cap-badge of the English 2nd Foot or Queen's Regiment (until the late 20C amalgamations) – hence their nickname of the Mutton Lancers. |

Well I'm not sure that's what Jim was referring to, but the paschal lamb is all over Puerto Rico's art, inscriptions and architecture, specially around San Juan. It's the coat of arms for the island. Dan link
