Since the United States didn't exist during most of the examples he quotes, and several others were border disputes with the people who had originally occupied the land, countless seems a bit extreme.

Don't forget… The British Invasion of the early 1960s. Most notable was the Beatles who arrived in support of a rebellious and disaffected youth. They made off with a king's ransom while leaving behind vinyl discs. These discs emitted a sonic assault that whipped the youths into a frenzy while at the same time sent older Americans running for cover. The casualty count from all that sex, drugs and rock 'n roll continues to climb to this day.

That was retaliation for Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Elvis in the 50s. The aftermath of that invasion is still felt.
