Ok so I placed an order for close to $200 USD with New Wave in early June and have yet to receive a thing or talk to anyone. I have left numerous phone messages, emails, posts, etc
but nothing yet. Anyone have a suggestion on how I go about getting my money back? Thanks, Tomasino |

call your CC company and cancel asap. |
Peredyne | 30 Jun 2005 9:39 a.m. PST |
Contact your credit card company and tell them the situation and to reverse the charges. If you paid with check or money order, You may need to contact your bank and/or the Georgia Attorney General's office. New Wave got another one, boys
You aren't the first to be nailed by New Wave. As a matter of fact, you can go to almost any minitures/wargaming board and ask for input about New Wave and get tons of horror stories. I hope you get your order or your money back. Good Luck, and next time use the WarStore. |

Thanks for the info fellas. Weird thing is I had placed orders over the last few years with them with no problems. I'll check out the warstore though, perhaps they won't shaft me. :) |

The nightmare begins again. Read one of the twenty posts on New Wave's great costumer service. You will be lucky if you ever get the figures, let alone get your money back. -TJ |

Good Times, eh? Take the advice of Dentatus and cancel the order if you bought it via credit card. If it's too late or you paid some other way
Read this link And along with the GA Attorney General, check out the GA Office of Consumer Affairs site too: link |

"Those who are ignorant of the mistakes
." Good luck Tomasino. If you come to Georgia I will guide you to their warehouse and watch the back door to see if the owner tries to slip out after you arrive. |

Here's a Yahoo group where people specifically go to discuss dealers like New Wave, as well as ask advice about dealers they've never done business with before. You can go there to get more advice, as well as a heads up on other dealers. link |

The War Store will be a VERY safe alternative to NWG. I hear nothing but HIGH PRAISE for Neal and The War Store. |

I can't believe that people still use New Wave. If you searched on TMP you's find 100 threads all saying the same thing. |

Heh, well since I have been using them for at least 3 years with no worries I didn't think about it. Then again I didn't place a whole lot of orders. I did contact my credit card company and am in the process of getting my money back. Thanks for the offer cloud, I've considered heading to the warehouse to "finalize" my order. Been coming to TMP for a while but haven't been to the boards hardly at all. Seems I have to rectify that. Thanks again all, wish me luck. |
Sky Captain | 30 Jun 2005 11:14 a.m. PST |
God luck. It took me 6 months to finally get all the figures I ordered through them. You can order the same line through Brigade or perhaps the Warstore. |
Norscaman | 30 Jun 2005 11:20 a.m. PST |
Take the well made advice above ASAP. When are people going to learn???? Does anyone think that we should have a board devoted to new wave and how to fight them??? At this point, for me to order anything from them, I would offer them COD and nothing else. |

May come as a surprise to some but not every wargamer or figure collector knows about TMP, shocking eh. |

It's a pretty good bet that anyone that posts a message on TMP asking what to do about their missing New Wave order knows about TMP. |

This is who you need to contact ASAP! The contact information has been removed, since "...our office has concluded it's investigation of the company and will no longer be able to accept further complaints based on the fact that we are in litigation and or taking civil penalty action against same." |
Dentatus | 30 Jun 2005 1:48 p.m. PST |
Use The Warstore – or DungeonTrader – or Fantization – or Brigade Games
or just about anyone other than NW. I have ordered from the first 4 and had nothing but excellent service. Right now Neal at The Warstore is getting my $ because of Urban War. Explain your problem and reverse the charges. Good Luck.

If all else fails Send them an Email telling them you are a close personal friend of Scurvy Bartella. He is not very happy about you being shafted like this and he mentioned something called a liverpool kiss. |

Is a "Liverpool kiss" what Michael gave to Fredo, when he told him "You broke my heart!"? |

Well it's been a while – I was starting to think they shaped up a bit. Especially as I got a nice email refering to the complaint I filed at the BBB several years ago not less than a month ago. They were looking to resolve the issue but of course by that time it had long been rectified. Too bad

Lukash | 30 Jun 2005 5:39 p.m. PST |
I didn't know they were even in business anymore. :( |

I got all but one of my minis from New Wave after a three-month battle. I'm not complaining – I realize that makes me one of the few lucky New Wave victims! I noticed that New Wave shipped my items via UPS, keeping the USPS out of the picture, so I didn't think I had a case to bring up to USPS. No mail, no mail fraud. Also, although the BBB has no regulatory authority, I really think that New Wave was a lot more responsive after I filed a complaint against them. Maybe I just had a good person working my case, but I found the BBB to be very professional, and 'on the ball'. You might give that a try, too. Good luck. At least your credit card company is working with you. I paid through PayPal without using a credit card, and when they found out New Wave had shipped a couple of my minis to me already, PayPal told me they wouldn't do anything beyond sending a e-mail to New Wave asking them to play nice. |

So, are we every going to have a "Bad Trader Alert" on New Wave? Not that it's a mystery, but shouldn't it be official? |
Beltayn | 02 Jul 2005 2:36 p.m. PST |
Better Business Bureau has a list of complaints against this company going back several years. They really didn't do much except log the complaint, sent them a letter but that's about it. It wasn't until the Gerogia Gov's Office of Consumer Affairs got involved that things started happening. Apparently, they a number of complaints from other folks regarding NW, and were able to 'motivate' the company into refunding my money. It's your best bet. Make sure you have every bit of correspondence between yourself and NW (especially reciepts) and get that to the investigator as well. |

Gerogia=Georgia they a= they have a <blush> |
Beltayn | 02 Aug 2005 12:45 p.m. PST |
I was contacted by the investigator last Thursday and was asked to post this. The State of Georgia has concluded it's investigation against the company, and is in the litigation process and taking civil action. The office is no longer taking complaints at this time, until the current action is settled. It seems that quite a few of you have contacted the investigators office; they have more then enough information, and basically they need to continue, unimpeded. What does this mean? PLEASE DON'T call the investigators office anymore. Let them do their job =) |
Beltayn | 03 Aug 2005 6:46 a.m. PST |
Another TMPer brought up a good point on another thread. You folks don't know me from Adam, and I don't blame anyone for disregarding my last post. You have every right to seek justice and rightful compensation. I cannot stop any of you from contacting the investigator, nor prevent anyone from taking that contact information (which had been posted since early-mid February of this year- roughly six months) and copying it elsewhere on the Internet. |
