Love them. Great attention to detail (eg everyone correctly placed whether flank or centre, colours orientated accurately….no harm in them being back in the rear rank for safety, plus the light co cap badges on the shakos). White lace on white facings, not easy and so well shown. Your website says they had worst casualties of any British unit at Waterloo. They got off "lightly" at Quatre Bras it seems but certainly were heavily engaged at Waterloo two days later. Hussey Vol II has 1/27th losses at 63% (I thought they were the worst) but 2/73rd even higher at 69% . He puts 1/32nd in a band of 30-36%. I know killed, wounded, missing etc can cause confusion….heck Hussey may even be wrong!

I had these doughty lads in my old Napoleonic days. They served well on many a stricken field. Very nice work! |

Was this your first foray into British/KGL infantry? If so, hope it is not your last. Would love to see you do any Light Battn whether 52nd, 71st or 95th… If anyone is not familiar with his website, do look through the list of exhibits, on the right, in the black box. Some brilliant Perry and Calpe work, not just Front Rank. |
