Which episode is the best, in your opinion? |
Herkybird | 17 Feb 2018 2:26 p.m. PST |
'The immunity syndrome' for me, but 'The doomsday machine' is a very close second. |

"Amok Time" and "Journey to Babel" are tied for first, with "A Piece of the Action" and "The Trouble with Tribbles" fighting it out for a very honorable 3rd and 4th. But it was a great year. Lots of defensible choices. |

I'd have to go for "Amok Time" and "The Trouble with Tribbles too." I also liked "The Changling" and "I Mudd." Not a bad season but not nearly as many stand-out episodes as season one. |

Best episode of Season 2? How can you beat an evil Spock? "Mirror, Mirror" |

I would have to go with "Return to Tomorrow" and "The Ultimate Computer". |

My three absolute favorites are "The Doomsday Machine", "The Trouble With Tribbles" and "A Piece Of The Action"; All but the first have a natural humor in the stories, and they all illustrate the way Starfleet – and the Federation to some extent – works and why it does what it does. All of them involve the crew solving a dilemma with intelligence and courage. Mind you, it's close – "Journey To Babel" and "the Immunity Syndrome" are also impressive. |

I like A Private Little War. Then Doomsday Machine. Who mourns for Adonis is interesting as there is a fan made sequel. It's not too bad either. Journey to Babel, Mirror Mirror and several others range from ok to good. Season 3 had some real clunkers. Thanks |

Don't know about it being "the best", but my favorite is Omega Glory. Kirk at his rambling best! Second would be Doomsday Machine and then Mirror, Mirror. |

Mirror Mirror with the Mugatoo getting honorable mention. |

Hard to beat The Doomsday Machine. One of the most tragic guest characters in the series, and a unique soundtrack that I swear inspired Jaws. Journey to Babel was also excellent. One of the few episodes that gives some insight into the working of the Federation, backstory on Spock and Vulcan, and a gripping plot. |

Doomsday Machine and Mirror, Mirror sit close but, I have to give props to William Windom's Decker. It's clear that the character WAS a very good officer before running into "that… thing". He was pushed hard over the edge – and finished when his crew was killed after he tried to save them. Tragic character, quite well played. |

Doomsday Machine, with double props for the updated SFX version since unlike Star Wars the new FX really upped the atmosphere on that episode. William Windom's interview about how his performance came about is excellent too. |
