Guys

I ordered these 2 styles of acrylic deadlock beads a couple of weeks ago and received them today. They are going to make perfect columns for so many different genres and I wanted to share the idea.

I have other flat disc beads that they will sit on and then other beads to cap them off. So, when done, they'll be a little under 30mm tall:

But I hope this helps those who might be wanting to make 15mm terrain with exotic columns and pillars to finally get started.

Terrific idea. Thanks for the tip.

Hmm. Maybe not just 15mm. Remember that lighter Barsoomian gravity…

Anyway, thanks.

AND if you want a Conan-like SNAKE TEMPLE look …

Then buy spiral grooved dowel pins like these 1" ones, and then add some large-hole* acrylic spacer beads to each end:

Dan,

Level with us. In truth, the only reason you bought these is that you are changing your hair style. And your new avator will be Dan in dreads. grin

Amazing stuff you find.

In larger scales they cold be exotoic railing posts. Slap a popsicle stick or a piece of plastic on top. Urns, vases-all kinds of scenic 'litter'.

I've used "beads" from the craft store also for my 6mm …

Note: the large grave stones are "monoliths" in 6mm scale … evil grin

I've several packs of these and similar, from Michael's/HobbyLobby/JoAnn sales.

There are some fairly squat ones that I always figured [as mentioned elsewhere] to use for jars in exotic market stalls. Some look quite right for terra cotta mid-Eastern and Southwest America.

Some have other colors, and oriental markings, say, good for Far East, as well.

Never thought as 15mm pillars… Hmm…

Doug

For years I've toyed with the idea of making a scratchbuilt Mummy dungeon, and using low pillars inside some of the corridors:

PS. Even Alien ones don't need to be overly tall to add some exotic flavor:

And, when necessary, the column bases could always be made taller.

For the base of those snake columns, these might be an option:
