Does anyone have a good resource for flags of the covenanter army fro the battle of Inverlochy? I'm finishing up my army and its time to do the standards. Thanks |

Hi rampantlion and Timmo, The other Tim here, from BCW wiki Thanks for the link Timmo! Apologies, I haven't got around to completing Covenanter flags yet, there are more here on the last pages PDF link though some need checking As far as i remember Argyll's Highland regiment black with yellow saltire as per the link above, also a small detachment of the Earl of Tuillibardine's (white with red saltire) Note these flag colours are from later regiments in 1648, so best guesses rather than 100% certainty. The majority of the Covenanters at Inverlochy were a mix of highland levies from Campbell dominated territory. No idea of flags etc for these I'm afraid to say. The Project Auldearn guys did a great job of newly designing flags for their units based on coats of arms etc, see here auldearn1645.blogspot.co.uk |

Try Project Auldearn, as suggested – and the Flags of War website may also be useful – I got a couple of sets from them which could be appropriate for Inverlochy ( Argyll, Mungo Campbell, possibly Loudon). |
