I've been watching the thread about the sale of The Continental, hoping for some sort of word re this year's Weekend game get together. This year promised to be my first, so I'm not in the newsletter group.

I was sort of expecting that the organizer, Ottoathome, would jump in with some sort of word, but there hasn't been anything about The Weekend, apart from an assurance from Cleo L. that it'd be moved.

I did a Google search and found an old thread and clicked on Otto's profile and found he's "Temporarily Locked.". Hence the quietude.

Can anyone in the know, or who can reach Otto, post some kind of word as to where things stand?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Otto is no longer a member, or even visitor that I'm aware of, of TMP. Apparently Otto and The Editor reached an impasse that neither is willing to back down from and I personally doubt that Otto will return.

I'm afraid that I can't answer all of your questions. I do know that The Continental cancelled the booking because of extensive renovation and Otto had to scramble to find an alternate location. This has been accomplished and Otto says that he is preparing invitations. I would suggest reaching out to Otto directly via his e-mail, which is:

Let him know that you want an invite and more information and I'm sure he will assist you. In spite of occasional quirks, he is actually a pretty genuine guy and an Old School Gentleman.

Many thanks MWM. You are a great deal of help for someone who "never was."

Quick pickup KPinder! I also e-mailed Otto through the Society of Daisy yahoo group to let him know you were looking for info and might be contacting him.

You know, I try to be helpful where I can but I'm constantly having to dry this uniform off and get the water out of my briefcase ;-)
