Great job on these figures. Do you use "The Dip" to seal the paint or is that just a brown wash?

Philotep11 Feb 2018 4:22 a.m. PST

Thank you Davbenbak.
Just a (GW) brown wash.

The brown wash really works……

Is it just me feeling inadequate or are these young lads particularly well "equipped"?

I'll be honest, it was the distaff side of the family who noticed and commented….it was ever thus…….

I was going to convert from Zvezda Old Guard, but you have made me reconsider! The brown wash is very nice. Just one (constructive) criticism – these guys almost certainly had white chevrons on their shakos. Also, when first formed, their cadres were from OG Grenadiers, and would have worn their bearskins.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Really nice painting! Those are the new HaT figures, right? Love the bassoon player.

Thank you all for your comments.

@Widowson: you're perfectly right, I realized my mistake after posting!! So I planned to add the chevrons on of these days… thanks for pointing it out, I really appreciate it :)

@Bill: the bassoon player (and the drummer) are Strelets minis from set 013 Napoleon's General Staff.
The three others are from Hät Set 8167 French Middle Guard: Fusilier Grenadiers, released in… 2007! I can't believe it.
