I was curious if there are any other miniatures makers who have sales like BlackTree Design does?

Old Glory has the "Old Glory Army Card" – costs $50 USD per year but provides 40% off everything. $127 USD/128 is the "break-even point.

My "Tekumel Club" works the same way if you want Empire of the Petal Throne (Tekumel) figures. :-)

I highly recommend the Old Glory Army, $50 USD and you get a free set of figures ($36 value). If you are ordering more than 2 packs a year it makes total sense.

Example
$50 USD Membership price + $21.6 USD (pack of figures after discount)=$71.60

2($36 normal pack price)=$72

Everything after the two packs is just gravy.

I love the Old Glory stuff and wouldn't be able to get the big armies I prefer without it. $.75 USD/foot for metal is impossible to beat!

Thanks for the reminder of Old Glory! I have a number of their sets, as well, and I do like their Celts and Vikings I have. The Romans I have are good too.

I just wish shipping from the USA to Canada was more reasonable. (It is more reasonable to ship across the ocean from Great Britain than it is across the border from Montana …)

I do understand Old Glory does their very best to ensure shipping charges outside the USA are the best possible (it would be nice to have a "buy so much (ie $100 USD minimum and get free shipping" from Old Glory – perhaps in conjunction with their Army Membership (just an idea Russ! hint, hint)

I don't know anyone that does sales like BTD. Quit a few folks do sales once or twice a year.

Occasionally Warlord games has 50% off of its sprues. Quite a way to build up a big force. Check them occasionally.

If you join the Warlord games mailing list you will always get advance notice of any sales or special deals. The sprues offer is generally once a year, on top of that there were several discount deals last year.

I have quite a few of the sprues from Warlord. They can be good and bad at the same time. Sadly, the plastic sprues figures do not hold up as well as the metal ones.

It is very frustrating to put the time and effort in only to have a rifle break …

Admittedly, the newest sets have been better than the first ones – they really need to redo the British infantry …

I am really looking for metal.

@79thPA:

Which companies, exactly, are you talking about? When are the sales? (ie Black Friday, Christmas like BTD or ?)

Foundry did one last December buy x get x. gripping Beast did a postage free offer again last December. Join their mailing lists to find out more.

Oh and Newline also had a December sale last year off their already very low prices.

Splintered Light, Rebel Minis, GHQ, Warlord, Foundry, and a lot more I can't think of. Battle Honors/19th Century figures cost less the more you buy. They have sales when they feel like it -- it is not something I keep track of. It can be a Christmas sale, a Black Friday sale, a we're not going to X convention sale, a we haven't had a sale in awhile sale, etc., etc.

In re. Old Glory:
$50 USD USD Membership price minus $21.6 USD USD ($36 pack of figures* after 40% discount)=$28.40 The cost of a one year membership.
*Scroll down the home page oldglory25s.com/index.php Choices for a free pack are currently:
1 of 6 packs of 10, 28mm "Space Mercenaries" (ersatz you know who) the $36 USD packs in the example. or
either a 25mm Union or Confederate Camp Set ($34) or
a pack of 4 25mm Union or Confederate Mounted Commanders ($12)
From the example above the amortized cost of a one year 40% discount is now $28.40 USD. To amortize that sum to zero you must now purchase a further $71.00 USD. This example is for a $36.00 USD pack. For other pack costs your mileage will vary ($34>$74, and anyone taking a $12 USD pack needs remedial math beyond the scope of this one post.) OK, so that last one was snarky. :)
Without knowing a destination I cannot estimate shipping cost, but be aware that that cost increases the amount which must be spent to reach the break even point.
