I've been looking for some WW1 era tropical troops for an imag-ination project, and I've recently been looking at the WW1 German Asia Korps for inspiration. It seems that the only manufacturerers that make minis for that unit are Brigade Games and Battle Honors. Does anyone have any of the latter? I've never seen anyone use Battle Honor's WW1 range, and I've wondering about some of their poses and sculpting. In y'alls opinion, is Battle Honor's sculpting any good? How to they compare with Brigade Games's line? |

If you want WWI era Germans in Sun Helmets, check out Pulp Figures range, pulpfigures.com |

I was kinda hoping for having the soldiers in the peaked cap with the Havelock…I wanna make sure they don't look like British troops. Though I do have some of Brigade Game's Schutztruppe in Sun Helmets. |

I also like the Germans in Mark Copplestone's Darkest Africa range. Not an extensive range but really nice and includes various Askaris. link |

I like their WWII figures just fine, but I have never seen the WWI ones. Compared to Brigade, I would say they are going to come in smaller in height and heft. Although not specifically what you mentioned, Reviresco also makes a few figs you might want to take a look at. Tiger Miniatures also makes some nice pre-war Germans and askaris but, again, it might not be what you are looking for. |

If you're looking for 28mm figs, I'm no help. If you're starting from scratch and scale isn't an issue, Tumbling Dice and/or IT Miniatures make Asian Korps in 20mm. |

I've a few of the Battle Honours WWI figures. Some of them are quite nice, but I'm not such a fan of the Asia Korps. I don't have a handy photo (I had one on Photobucket but you know…) BH are slight compared to other manufacturers. I'd recommend going with the Brigade figures. Either get the ones with slouch hats to get the distinctly German look, or if you want the peak caps with Havelock get the Pulp Figures ones and add the Havelock with greenstuff. |
