On a scale of 1 (terrible) to 10 (awesome), how would you rate your organization skills when it comes to miniature wargaming? |

7 – All my stuff is sorted into boxes and drawers – not fully labelled but have a rough idea where things are….. :-) |

Normally about a 6, but since TreeGirl has taken over much of man cave with her projects, I'm down to a 3. |

Solid nine….. If I didn't then my mind brain would revolt, declare independence, and move to another skull for better habitat. All miniatures, either painted or raw metal/plastic, are filed into strong storage boxes, each box clearly labelled , and each sub compartment within boxes labelled for the unit. System designed for young gamers to properly return miniatures back to their storage box compartment without assistance. Books / rules shelved by era in separate library room. Paints and art material storage in drawers or in color sequence order on paint table. Spare lighting available when painting. TV nearby for background encouragement if needed (dvd/vhs, or cable). Keeps me sane…… |

1 maybe a 2 at best. Most everything is together with like items. But they are scattered about the house. |

Running Games – 9 Organization of hobby stuff (before Summer 2017) – 4 Organization of hobby stuff (since Summer 2017) – 7 |

Running games: 7 Organization of stuff used frequently (like for games I run): 7 Organization of painting and modelling equipment and supplies: 8 Organization of other stuff: 4. OK, 3.5. 3, then. |

10 Everything is in a box with a label. The label accurately describes the contents. This includes finished armies, WIP and raw lead. Games are very organized with custom QRS sheets, detailed rosters, well thought out scenarios where possible. |
FusilierDan | 05 Feb 2018 10:27 a.m. PST |
A solid 3. I know where most things are but for someone else to come in it mostly a mess. |

up until 3 months ago, a 5-6. i have gone through all my minis, purged about half, sold off cases, thrown away a half dozen terrain "projects". sold off all space sci fi stuff sold off 90% fantasy (have a box of halflings and a box of dwarves that have survived the purge, and they are trying to be quiet in the corner to escape attention) clipped bits off of 5 boxes of sprues that i wanted and threw away the rest. labeled all of them in bags or small containers. purged all dried out old paints, that i kept saying i was going to try and revive. Down to 4 historical periods, one of which may still go and one that is very small adn they are all neatly organized. right now i feel very organized, solid 8, but we will see if i can resist traditional habits. |

3-4, 90% of the time. After a game is played, 1… Takes a while to get them sorted, and back on their proper trays. Need more storage space to organize. Game room is shared with the wife, who has her own crafting hobbies. She is probably a 6-7, with her stuff; she'd be an 8-9 if we didn't have to share space -- I'd still be where I am at, without her stuff in the mix. |

7 overall ,everything is in boxes ,by period,,books are on there shelf,6hen take off points for my cluttered painting table and a corner w/ piled up ,I;m saving these things for something… |

5 space is my problem, I have to sell to make space for new. Right now it really is a sell period, but I don't want to part with anything. Given a larger space probably an 8. |

3-4 maybe?? I can usually tell where a particular mini is, to within a range of six foot. Then it's box opening time ;) p.s. my current game room is 8x6'… |
zoneofcontrol | 05 Feb 2018 12:05 p.m. PST |
My minis, terrain, tools and paint would be an 8+. My books and reference library is another story. I know where most stuff is or close to where it is but is not organized. It would be a 3 (on a good day). |

I am amazed you chaps can put a number on it. I admit to having "wargaming stuff" in four different rooms of a small bungalow. I presume I'm in negative equity. |
goragrad | 06 Feb 2018 1:00 p.m. PST |
Maybe a 5. I have spreadsheets with most everything cataloged. And most of the minis segregated in boxes and organizers. But still have to dig around a bit occasionally to find the figures to complete a project and a couple of figure have been hiding out for some time. |
Stew art | 06 Feb 2018 1:43 p.m. PST |
solid 10, because I would think that I am awesome. I will only focus on 1 or 2 projects at a time and complete one before I start another one. Projects get done, and armies grow. I do miniatures and terrain. All my game stuff is stored and I know where it is. When I start a project / genre I will plan how to store it. |

7-8. Figures painted and unpainted have a place. My paint, brushes and assorted gear, if not exactly tidy, also have a place. I'm pretty good, but every once in a while I lose track of something. Usually I hunt down the missing but occasionally it disappears. I have lots of stuff. |

My answer is-- I strongly desire to and intend to be so when I have time. So after retirement, I hope it will help keep me out from under the feet of my wife. |
