I have one of Monday Knight Games wargaming mats, and it has gotten a lot of dust on it. I want to clean it off, but I'm trying to be very cautious about how I do it. I have no idea of a method that doesn't run the risk of ripping or discoloring the mat. Any suggestions?

If it's only dust, have you tried a hand vacuum?

I let mine get dusty as it helps break up the monotony of the green flock. However, I do use dirt for my roads so often need to give them a cleaning after a game. Here is what I do.

Go down to my loading dock and clamp the mat to a railing (I live in a high rise) with the back facing me. Now just using my hand swat the back side of the mat. The motion seems enough to shake loos 90% of the dirt, leftover flock etc. I have used a dust buster for spot cleaning.

DO NOT GET THE MAT WET. Unless you want to buy a new mat.
