It was a scratchbuilt board, perhaps 2' x 2', of a cobblestone town square. I think the fellow started off building it for his daughter but, after she lost interest in playing in it, he continued to build more around the square.

I think it was mostly blue/pink foam, with lots of bits made from Sculpy (polymer clay). He made mushroom people and other characters too. The buildings lacked right angles, flaring out towards the top.

It all looked truly fantastical. There were some of the most crooked telescopes I've ever seen coming out of the windows and the oddest angular chimneys on the most uneven of roofs, but he made it all merge beautifully.

I think one of the last buildings he did for the board was a tall observation tower of some sort. Stunning stuff. And the colors, though cartoonish, looked awesome.

Does it ring a bell with any of you? I used to have the link but lost it long ago. It was a blog, not a video.

If it helps jog memories … I think he also shared the photos with players on some Mordheim(?) forum.

Deafnala!!! THAT'S the name!

LOL. I have been up hours looking for it. Now I can finally go to sleep (if I can possibly resist skimming through those pages).

Thanks so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Dan
EDIT – And, now that I finally have a name to search under, I looked and found where it is I first saw his work on that weird town, where right angles must have been against the law or something: :)

Truly amazing stuff. This gent has been working the project for about 7 years. He must have watched Labrynith, fifty times. Beautiful work. I REALLY like the trees he makes. I have all of the supplies on hand to make the trees, I just don't know if I have the patients.
