James Holmes, in "No, China Doesn't Want Confrontation in the South China Sea," takes a different view. In this piece, I show China wants more than just to provoke a confrontation in that contested body of water. It wants to "pull the trigger." The Chinese [along with the Russians] will continue to "play the game", that started @ 1945. Chance of a nuc exchange still is very small, IMO. The PRC wouldn't want to do anything to lose the biz, i.e. money from US companies, etc. [the Russians … Putin likes being "King" and he wants to be alive to continue his reign] … |

I'd think anyone who tried to nuc the USA, e.g. Russia, China, NoKo, etc., would be on the losing end. But there would still be a lot of fallout, etc., … almost everywhere. |
