I need some new armour for my early Soviets.

Does anyone make a 28mm compatible BT-2?

A search turned up lots of BT-7s and BT-7as, and a few BT-5s, but no BT-2s.

Anyone have any leads?

Hello!

BT-2, as far as I know, on a more or less close scale (1/43) was done only one long time ago closed small workshop from Kazakhstan (to be more exact – the workshop ХСМ from Pavlodar). Now they are extremely rare and cost at least $ 100 per unit.

So it's easier, probably, to take as a basis BT-5, and make a turret of paper (there are free patterns on the Internet – for example, this PDF link ).

Have you tried Shapeways? There seems to be a lot or the rarer tanks on there. I picked up a Marmon-Herrington CTLS-4 Light tank in 28mm off there a couple of months ago.

Shapeways has a pricy BT-5. You could trim off the track guard (front & back) then make the turret round. Lots of work.

Better yet, take this T-3 medium tank from Shapeways. Much closer to what you are looking for in an early BT-2.

Good call.
A new gun and Soviet paint job and that would stand in nicely for a BT-2 or early BT-5.

I've already got a T-40 from the same seller in the past and he does good work.

Thanks.

Edit: I just checked my Shapeways messages and he is in the process of adding a BT-2 as we speak! All's well that ends well.

Shapeways has not one but THREE different BT-2 tanks: an early one (missing the main armament), one with MGs only, and one with the main gun and MGs.

Look for PV194A (early), PV195A (MGs only) and PV193A (main gun and MGs).
