Does anyone make 20mm WW2 Hungarians? If not, any ideas for a good substitute? Thanks.

There are a few options…

I have a few of these I need to paint up and get ready to game with…

Great, thanks! I am sure cavalry is out of place for late war but cool none the less. Ah, who am I kidding. I'll probably toss in an officer on horse just for the fun factor.

Too bad no photos. :(

Is there a reason there are no photos on that site? I have read a lot of threads in TMP about sub-standard allegedly pirated copy figures sold by Stonewall.

It's not my place to weigh in on the veracity of the piracy accusations, but I can confirm that the castings are a sack of hot garbage.

It's been accepted practice for as long as I remember that unless you can find Stonewall at a show and hand-pick your packs, don't buy Combat Miniatures.

I do seem to recall reading suggestions (alas, on the Guild, RIP) that the range was getting refreshed and remoulded… but on the other hand, 'Capitan Miniatures' have relaunched the old Warmodelling/Fantassin line with 'new moulds' at least twice, with increasingly poor casting, and I get the impression Stonewall handle the production side of that, so there's that…

Shellhole Scenics shellholescenics.co.uk have a Hungarian line, but they are all in greatcoats.

There is another posibility for Hungarians, in plastic: link

Stonewall has been accused of piracy for a decade or more. I'd avoid dealing with them if at all possible.

Hungarians are/were also made by Raventhorpe miniatures and Axal (now Rolf Hedges / Liberation Miniatures).

The Axal figures are pretty nice if you can get them.

Go here for Hungarians!

Second the Shell Hole Hungarians.

I used Lancashire miniatures for the rank and file and WW1 Germans for the heavy weapons.

Wow, thanks everyone for the information. I like the Shell Hole figures. Greatcoats is fine since I am doing winter 1944 (Battles around Debrecen, Hungary). I'll avoid Combat Miniatures.

Oh, and I will have to pick up a couple of mounted units as well. So cool.
