Nearly…..

But…and please forgive a total anorak

Guards cavalry at Waterloo. 4 regts not three. RHG, 1st and 2nd Life Guards and 1st Dragoon Guards

You have shown RHG (Oxford Blues etc…basically crested helmet in blue coats)

You have show the two regts of Life Guards from the Household Cavalry (1st and 2nd)…same rig but redcoats. Except you called them Dragoon Guards.

The Dragoon Guards were different and there (in large numbers!) also in Somerset's Brigade, but in a rig indistinguishable from 1st Royal Dragoons (other than not having the tails of their horses "docked"). You need one more Guards unit alas, in the French style helmet with the horse tail, as for 1st/6th Line Dragoons, with blue facings of course.

Great work. Tell me where to stick this information and I will understand.

Thanks, Liam. I had them as 1st and 2nd Life Guards in my painting notes, but somehow I messed it up while typing this morning. I have fixed the error.

I am just glad you were not totally hacked off at me pointing this out. 1st DGs are always the poor relation as such a dull rig…….how do you tell them from line?

Weeel, Dragoon Guards are not really Guards…

Brave man…………Funny thing. RHG, Blues were long not regarded as Household strictly speaking
