I like using the wooden blocks that come with the game. Easier to see what you are looking at and concentrate on winning the game.

You know, if he were selling the castings and the hexes, I'd buy unless it got completely unreasonable. But cheap castings as long as I buy a 3D printer first lacks appeal.

Also there's no mention of hex width or casting height. You'd like to think that could be adjusted on a 3D printer, but I've gotten past the point of thinking things surely will be done because they certainly ought to be done.

And does every 3D printer in the world accept the same files?

To be honest, this feels like a solution in search of a problem.

In that number you can makes hexes like that probably easier than printing them. As for the soldiers, why not just buy minis and spray paint them?

I live in the hope that those tricorne and shako RISK pieces will come on the market independent of the games--with supplemental sprues of elites. They'd do pretty well for this. (Yes, of course I have a stock. But I want grenadiers in mitre and bearskin, Napoleonic light cavalry and 18th Century hussars.)

I think I'd rather purchase 6mm or 10mm lead figures – and for the equivalent of 40 Euros I could buy quite a lot!

Or I'd recycle plastic figures from RISK, as robert piepenbrink suggested.
