Hello again all,
Necromunda is one of my favourite games & so I have made a lot of terrain for it along the years.
After seeing Stroezie's 6mm board on Lead Adventure .de I decided to start working on a gameboard of my own which can be used for both 15 & 28mm.
The base will be made from 6" sqr 1 to 2" thick eps peices to get a 2' sqr board, plain on one side & with canals on the reverse side.
I'm basing my smaller terrain on 6x7" 3mm mdf so the board will have endless variation both top & bottom.
You might ask why 6x7 not 6x6 , well this size accomodates my finished terrain nicely & will provide overlap & canals running under the terrain.
Apart from buildings i have also loads of walkways, bridges & scatter terrain which can easily be used.
Here are some pics of the wip. More will follow,

Finished all Exp polystyrene canals.
Finished painting of running water.

Thanks for your comments.

Amazing so far!

Dan
PS. Do game rules ever take into consideration the accidental ignition of all the fumes? It could add a fun unpredictability aspect. :)

I have run StarGrunt scenarios for which I've written rules for exploding tanks of liquid hydrogen. I read accident reports about ruptured liquid hydrogen tanks and lines to have some technical basis for my scenario rules.

Luckily for the troops in those games, they didn't get into any fights in the fuel tank area of the starport!

Behold the power of fumes.

And even when you think a fire is out, the fumes could relight it.

Thanks Dan.
One could always add that to a random events chart,e.g.

Sump Gas pocket.
Roll for random location ( scatter dice or by board peice )
Roll for diameter say 1D10 cm diameter.
Roll for effect -
Poison Gas ( hydrogen sulphide )
Stun Gas ( Chloroform ???? )
Flammable ( Methane ) – if a shot crosses the area , roll for explosion, if flame / plasma weapons are used add +1 or +2 to chance.

Interesting vid , btw.

Just uploaded even more pics.
Flotsam & jetsam, the green tentacled horror, bubbles ( desiccant balls cut in half with cutter ), vents/tunnels made from empty coffee capsules.

For the water I used acrylic clear gloss nail polish ( very good for sticking things firmly down ) & Tangit PVC pipe glue ( do take care if anyone uses these 2 & read the instructions )

Enjoy

Must say it took a lot of work ….. it is taking up a lot of my spare time indeed….. A LOT!!!!

Added more pics to show how it would come out – the brown pizza box border will be painted a nice matt black. Note that the flip side is black so I can have any combination. I need to add magnets to the sides. There are 25 squares for a total of around 3ft sq. The middle parts represent grilles so as to add strength to the build & to place magnets.

Just wish the gap between the blocks was thinner, oh well can't complain…..it's coming out good imho ….
Can't wait to add detail & colour when all are ready.. 21 to go….

Thanks for your comments.

Btw updated chart

Poison Gas ( hydrogen sulphide ) – Roll Strength say D6 vs toughness – Out of action or killed

Stun Gas ( Chloroform ???? ) Roll Strength say D6 vs toughness – stunned for D6 rounds,if victim near canal roll for initiative or fall & drown.

Flammable ( Methane ) – if a shot crosses the area , roll for explosion, if flame / plasma weapons are used add +1 or +2 to chance. Strength equal to diameter.

Fantastic list there! It can't be a fun game unless chance throws you a curve or two, I say. To me winning is secondary to having fun. :)

Welcome Dan,
Indeed having fun is the prime reason…

My plan is to paint the borders/sides black with Matt Black Brolac undercoat ( cheap & strong ) then spray lightly with grey primer.

To remove the corrugation edges I am going to stick more paper. Here are pictures from the top & some details like the sump spider web.

The reverse side will have the texture shown on it & the colour bits will be for detail etc.

Had fun doing those , some old school cut & paste ( i.e scissors & glue ).

When one thinks about it , there are 50 feet plus of borders there !!! Each square is around 6 1/2 ". No wonder it is taking ages to finish !!!

Hello again all,
I think that this adds colour & humour to the the usually drab Necromunda themed terrain.
All are hand painted. I love graffiti & I take inspiration from everywhere.
I also added a pic of how the reverse looks, when all 25 tiles are put next to each others.
