The wash on the center fig brings out the detail nicely. Just watch that you don't get the wash too strong and IMHO it will be the best approach. |

the wash works well. be careful to keep base colours light if you want to avoid everything ending up too dark |

I like all of them, but I think the center one is the best, followed by the guy to the right in the photo. I echo the caution on going too dark with the wash. |

I would say that the wash, center, is most effective, but too dark already. Lighten it up to the final color of the left figure, and you will hit a home run. Cheers! |

Thank you all for your comments and advice, they're all welcome. I will try not to use too much wash for the next guys, I agree that the result above is a bit too dark. |
