I've already asked about Whiskey Rebellion Flags. Much to my surprise, it turns out that the rebels had quite a few of them. See previous TMP article.
And this.

Since it was a political rebellion, in retrospect that's not all that surprising. Many were Protest Flags, not unlike early AWI New Rngland Flags.
The Spanish Civil War and Russian Civil War are examples of politicized troops carrying flags long after more "civilized" forces stopped.

So, now I'm asking why the rebels should get all the good stuff?
I'm looking for flags that the Army, Infantry and Dragoons, would have carried.
Also, if any state militia called up for the emergency would have carried Flags.
Having been surprised by the rebels, I'm prepared to believe anything! grin
