Wow! I don't like change to something so long cherished. Now I'll go read the link and adjust my opinion accordingly.

Edit: OK, I'll live. First, I love what Nick does already so I'm already convinced he's a great fit. Two, no ambitious tranformative plans are in the works, thank the maker. Three, I suppose an alternative is simple abandonment like so many other great sites of yore. That will not be happening anytime soon for which I am also grateful.

Who should Bill turn TMP over to when the time comes?

Wondering if this means LA will have dedicated forums for some of the gaming lines Northstar has invested in, like Frostgrave & Oathmark?

Damon.

This is better than no LAF, but only time will tell if it's a good fit. I have some personal reservations.
@Garand,
There's already a Child Board for Frostgrave, In Her Majesty's Name and Rogue Stars at LAF and they've been there for some time.

Interesting. I saw that LAF briefly went down last weekend and wonder now if that was part of this transition.

LAF is an absolute treasure and I do hope that Nick is able to maintain and grow it into the future.

I would think things will stay close to the same. North Star seems fairly diverse in products and keeping the forums alive doesn't hurt the hobby any. Sure there may be some more content on things they own but it's the users who are driving discussion and if they start to leave it won't help anyone. LAF provides the forum we provide the content.

I really like LAF. It has a nice community spirit. I think it is a pity that Alex has decided to stop running LAF but I am very glad that Nick is taking over.

Insecure connection though … is that temporary?
