Including Iran-Iraq War, Gulf War, Iraq War, and fighting against ISIS.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik29 Jan 2018 11:21 p.m. PST

Gulf War 1: 'Jarhead' and 'Three Kings.'

Gulf War 2: 'American Sniper' is the only one I've seen. HBO's 'Generation Kill' is also excellent.

War on Terror: 'Lone Survivor' and '12 Strong' are set in Afghanistan and the enemy are Al Qaeda and Taliban. They're (the movies that is) okay.

Don't know any movies about Iran-Iraq or specifically ISIS.

A couple of others that may be of use, even though they don't deal with the Iraq wars directly:

The Kingdom – FBI team working in Saudi Arabia vs Terror Cell

13 Hours – Private Military Contractors Vs Islamic militants in Lybia

Body of Lies – CIA working in Jordan, tracking Terror leader.

Zero Dark Thirty – Seals track and kill Terror Leader (Pakistan)

Desert Storm: Bravo to Zero, it shows the awesome power of giving Richard Sharpe an M16 instead of a Baker.

Gulf part duex: none really, Generation kill is the only one I like (have watched) and that's a series.

War On Terror, Lone survivor, act of valor, Zero dark thirty, Geronomo a low budget version of zero dark thirty, but still quite enjoyable.

The Netflix movie War Machine is pretty good. It is a look at how screwy the upper command levels is/was. One of Brad Pitts better roles.

Of those mentioned the only ones I've seen are Zero Dark and American Sniper. Both are excellent, but it seems I've got some further viewing to do…

I'll second American Sniper and Body of Lies.

Sniper is more of a character study, and Body of Lies has an interesting espionage plot.

How about "The Hurt Locker"

+1 for American Sniper, Lone Survivor and Three Kings

Also Hyena Road

Stryderg30 Jan 2018 11:20 a.m. PST

No one's mentioned "War Dogs". Maybe with good reason.

Not mentioned yet:

Green Zone
Osama (there was a cartoon version recently, but I forget its name)
Kilo Two Bravo (not to be confused with Zebra Two Bravo, which was already mentioned and also good)

Nat Geo's Long Walk Home
The Fighting Season
Six
Seal Team

Restrapo
Korengal

Bravo Two Zero30 Jan 2018 5:36 p.m. PST

As my handle I enjoyed Bravo Two Zero. With Sean Bean.

SAS troops go in before the 1991 invasion. One makes it out all the way to Syria. Bean captured endures the singing by and Iraqi intelligence officer. You get to hears one poorly sung Michael Jackson songs from very early 1980s

It is worth watching. I liked it so much I to the call sign.
