Maybe a bit bright. I think yellow ochre might be more the thing or some weathering. Spanish dragoons would be a rough looking lot. A striking unit none the less. Time for the Neufchâtel battalion to form square! |

While campaigning would of course dull the colors, the uniform, is specified to be "Lemon Yellow". They are actually painted Delta CC "straw", dry brushed bright yellow, and then a light black "magic wash". If you look at the many illustrations of this uniform, they all show a quite bright yellow. NOT like the dull yellow coats of the Saxon or Prussian Cuirassiers that wore 'yellow" jackets. |
