So this is like a the new HK33?
What's the point? The HK416 already uses stuff from the G36

Huge G-36 scandal in Germany because in high temperatures in Afghanistan German troops were discovering their rifles plastic was melting causing serious accuracy issues as well as total malfunctions. Turned out to not be HK's fault as much as it was the German Government for ordering the wrong polymer. That said, many nations have ordered G-36s and seem to be well pleased with them. The Germans have supplied some to the Kurds, and it certainly gets hot where they operate, and I've read several accounts where the Kurd's love them. Of course, if you've been getting by with a very old AK-47 held together with tape a G-36 would certainly make your day. The G-36 scandal got very nasty in Germany so this HK-433, as Gunfreak points out, is the new HK-33, a weapon that deserved more success than it ever got. The HK-416 is an M-16 the way it should have been designed, with a piston instead of blowing nasty gases into the chamber onto the bolt. Maybe HK wanted something totally designed by them, thus the HK-433.

For some insane reason the Ukraine is ordering a new rifle in 7.62x39 that has the M-16 tube blowing gases into the chamber onto the bolt design! Figure that one out?

H&K were not the only ones having problems with their plastic rifle bits melting, an early bunch of Australian Steyrs had the same sort of problem in the Gulf because some bean counter decided to use a cheaper polymer than the one used for the trials rifles. It was soon fixed, the better plastic was reintroduced to production and the dud parts replaced.
