I find myself in need of Dwarf Archers in my chosen scale 25/28mm (Dwarves in particular can be shorter than average). Does anybody have recommendations on manufacturers of Dwarves using bows either armoured or unarmoured?

Cmon, everyone knows dwarves only use crossbows or harkenbusen. They have to ride bears too.

Black Tree might still make a few.

The cheapest would probably be the Oathmark dwarves herkybird posted. I've only assembled 1 so far but I like them. I'm busy with goblins and elves right now so the dwarves have to wait.

I posted the same thing on the FB page, but please no dwarf bear cavalry!

Dwarves are too short to be good archers.

But they do make great…

Oh and they like as well…

They know that they will need to punch through Armor and know that a bow and arrow is just not going to do it.

Short composite bows were equivalent if not superior to say, the English longbow.

So there is no reason dwarves cannot be great archers or have effective archer units.

It all depends on your fantasy world. Are dwarves great machinists, because crossbows do go back many years IRL. Do the dwarves have years to spend perfecting their archery skills?

Thanks for the recommendations. It looks like I have even more reasons to get the Oathmark Dwarves. In reference to the idea that Dwarves might not be good archers do to their heights, just remember they are at least as strong as humans at that height, so a Dwarf with a shorter but still very strong bow can reach out and touch someone, and one of the advantages of a shorter length of pull is an increase in the rate of fire. In Narnia the Dwarfs are the best archers around.
