Cran taras Spanish[1740s] have a belly box the SYW Spanish I have [forget the maker] do not. When the Spanish stop using the belly box?

I have wondered that myself. I have used WSS-era French as colonial Spanish in the 1730's and 40's for that reason.

After that, It's usually the standard hip-box, but some troops apparently still used the ventral belt-mounted one, especially provincial/militia-types. As far as I know, they were still around through the Napoleonic period.
