As always, gorgeous figures and terrain. What a beautiful table you set. The perfect game. An interesting scenario in which all players have a variety of decisions to make, playing with good friends, pushing beautiful miniatures. Doesn't get much better than that. Can't wait to read part two. |

As always, gorgeous figures and terrain. What a beautiful table you set. Au contraire, mon ami. I was reading a French wargame site the other day and came across one of my Italian Wars games (if memory serves) with pics and a link to my blog. One of the comments about the game went something along the lines of the terrain not being up to the figures and the room, and "obviously being a man of means" or something like that (which I'm not) he would expect better. Of course, like most wargamers, my considerations, especially regarding terrain, are complex – my means do not stretch to bespoke terrain for particular battles; I don't have a work space big enough for complex terrain construction (I don't even have a garage); I don't have the storage space for individually landscaped tiles even if I wanted them (which of course, I do). But, I still consider myself an extremely lucky boy. C'est la vie! |

looks like a grand game. I want to look at Piquet a bit more. |

my means do not stretch to bespoke terrain for particular battles LOL! Limited means are about the only thing I can imagine holding you back from bespoke terrain for particular battles. The prodigious rate at which you churn out figures, rules and scenarios displays a level of energy and focus that is beyond most people I know – and far beyond most miniatures gamers. I bet if you were a "man of means", you'd have a warehouse full of bespoke battlefields. As an aside: I've long been struck by the incredibly bright hue of green preferred by many UK gamers. Your grassy cloth isn't the only one I've seen that looks vibrant enough to warrant sunglasses, or maybe an arc welding mask. Privately I always thought it looked terribly unrealistic, because where in the world is the grass that color…? Then I took a trip to the UK last September. The grassy fields across the whole of Southern England are pretty much exactly the way your gaming cloth looks. So, WOW! Good job! You got that spot on! :-) Is that what the countryside looks like out your window? - Ix |

The Kunersdorf pair-up has always intrigued me, partially because I suspect the Prussians will for once be totally outclassed. |
