Here are a couple of photos of the prelude to the first battle in my Kingmaker campaign. The Duke of Buckingham organises his forces near Milford Haven as the Earl of Warwick leads his troops through the Pembrokeshire countryside. More on my blog link

Neat idea. I've always thought Kingmaker would make a great basis for a WOTR campaign with minis. |

Agreed – looking forward to seeing more |

So cool! Someone mentioned on your Blog 10mm. I rather thougt of 15mm :) And the scenario for your First battle and the forces and everything Seems just right. I am eager to read more about the campaign, Kingmaker seems to be a pretty good Basis. |

Thanks again for your comments. As soon as the first battle is played (hopefully within the next couple of weeks) I will provide an update on TMP. |

Are you using any particular rules, or using KM as a battle generator? |
Grymauch | 19 Jan 2018 10:04 a.m. PST |
KM is the battle generator. Simply replacing any battles in the game for the tabletop. May play sieges but only if practicable. All other aspects of the campaign will be played out as per the boardgame. |

how do you handle the weather delays the attack card draw in the old resolution system? I always felt kingmaker really needed a retreat before battle mechanism to make sure that an army really wanted to stay and fight. |

It looks fantastic! I love the 6mm figs. |

Thanks rampantlion. Mick – the weather delays the attack card will mean that the battle is on hold for one day as in the rulebook. Either side will have the option of disengaging during that day. With regard to retreat before battle, I think there is an assumption that once on the battlefield it is very difficult if not impossible to retreat if the attacker is determined to engage. As it is an IGUGO system you could argue that the defender would normally have prior warning of an approaching attacker and may well decide to retreat before contact. You could easily introduce a house rule which I am not averse to doing with many rules, but I am content with things as they stand. With Kingmaker, as in most other boardgames that would be suitable for tabletop wargaming, it is easy enough to change whatever you like, even stripping it down to just using the map and counters with homegrown campaign rules if you wish. |
