I've started a new terrain project making a modular cliff system for use in my post-apoc (and other) games, and am posting about the construction process on my blog, Part 1 was posted a few days ago at:

Part 2 went up tonight at:

I am hoping to cover the entire process in four posts. Hope it might be of some interest, and thanks for looking.

Whoa. That's quite a build. What prompted you to imagine cliff fights? Or are they boundaries/edging for a desert-ish table?

Great project- I look forward to watching it progress.

They will serve as a combination of things. I wrote up an outline for a mini-campaign within my big campaign, and either hills or cliffs kept recurring as boundaries, landmarks and tactical positions. Cliffs take up less space than the hills would, so went with cliffs. Additionally , I needed more rocky terrain to clutter up the table, and some of the smaller pieces will help to fill that gap.

To be honest, I haven't really explored the options for fighting in them, or exploiting them otherwise. Someone on another group mentioned junker village hanging off of the cliffs, with zip lines connecting them and whatnot, which sounds like a brilliant idea, that I will have to steal. So who knows where the cliff will lead.

Made some progress this week, but a little behind at the moment.

Thanks for the comments.
