Over on Must Contain Minis, we had a chance to take a good look at some printed trench Terrain (for WW2 and other eras) by Black Scrolls Games.

These trenches are fairly cool and look very nice on the tabletop. There are some nice details in these cards.

Like any gaming mat, the map tiles look even better if you place 3D terrain on top of them.

If you are interested in seeing more or links to buy your own trenches, head on over to Must Contain Minis and check it out.

Is it easy to scale these down for games in 6mm?

It is designed for 28mm.

For the printed cards I got, I would imagine no.

If you buy the PDFs or digital products, maybe. Depends how savvy you are with editing programs.

If I were looking for 6mm though, I would continue looking for another trench product to suit my needs.

I'm not seeing the appeal.

Better to grab some card boxes from the supermarket, just ask, they'll give you loads. Get hold of some masking tape, or better yet hot glue.

Use scissors, or better, a box cutter!!! Lay out flat card board, flat packed boxes give multi layer advantage and stick together, or leave apart for a multi part board!

Draw on your design with a texta.

Cut 1-2" strips, depending how high you want the walls, these can be sloping. Glue the strips around as per your design.

Make some circles from strips (narrower ones, if your others are sloping) glue under areas to be solid ground for support, just a few will do.

Cut out sections from more boxes and glue on top of spacers and glue/tape to top edges of walls.

Paint the thing with pva glue add match sticks or tooth picks for wooden wall timbers and flooring, sprinkle over sand and grit. once a bit dry, wash with watered down pva for a solid finish. Once dry spray black and dry brush browns. Glue on some flock here and there.

Done!

Looks, could be 100%, likely 60-80%.

Cost a couple of rolls of tape and or a packet of glue sticks. A bottle of pva, some matchsticks and the paint. $30 USD for a table? Maybe? Maybe less?

Fun time had, definitely.

Fun times to come, you know it!
