Ages back I started on project to put together a scrolling shooter-type game set up. Anyway it stalled after awhile, partly because I was needing lots of drone fighters, but it wasn't until recently I had the bright idea of clipping the tops off two drinks bottle caps and gluing them together with Milliput!

The result, mounted on a 30mm square card base using a pin, is pictured with a necron and a GZG 15mm Out Rim Coalition trooper for scale. The disk is probably good for a 6mm saucer, bit big for a 15mm Tau-style drone, and needs some dressing up and gribbly bits to look the part for 28mm. Initially I started out with 6, but found you need to be careful matching the halves as the tops vary by small amounts so the raised bits didn't always match up.

Indeed, an excellent mini even without added "gubbins"! Well done! dr pepper

Too bad there's no caps like that in my country . . . Though we have some interesting shaped ones.

Rough paint job on the first one and it looks okay. I've also experimented with a landed version and built a couple more.

The landing legs are made from trimming another of the caps.
