As you know Warfare Miniatures are releasing the new Swedish Cavalry, so I need to have it added to my little Swedish army. The question is what to do with the 3 squadrons that I already have of the old warfare models? My program is to have 4 battalion of infantry and 9 squadrons of cavalry and I already own all the needed figures and in particular I have 3 Ebor squadrons in tricorn (already painted) and 3 in karpus that I can use only as Swedish so my solution is to paint the old Warfare figures as Danish dragoons. You see something unacceptable wrong in this solution? Thanks for your comments and indications.

bump up to 8 battalion of infantry and 18 squadrons of cavalry. The Troops will preform better when painted as the sculpter intended :-)

I'll take them, and thus save you he pain of such cognitive dissonance!

The Danes hadn't started using turnbacks yet, I'm also unsure if danish cavalry like the infantry used double-breasted coats.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though.

Alternative 1: you can expand your Swedish force.
Alternative 2: You're a GREAT painter, you could paint them up and sell them for a decent amount of money. Probably more than enough to pay for 4-5 times as many unpainted new Swedish dragoons.

Gunfreak first of all thanks for your consideration of my capabilities.
You are probably right, the best solution is to expand my Swedish also considering that my program is based on Russian, Danish, Saxon and Prussian units as foe so a lot of enemies…..

I originally planned on 6 swedish battalions, and 18 BLB squadrons (so 36 real squadrons)
But I'm now working on battalion nr 5. And I still haven't done a single guard unit yet. So I'm thinking now at least 9 battalions.

I also I've already done 9 squadrons. And had the plans ready for the last 9. But now I'm thinking I need to do both guard dragoons and Bremen dragoons toom so that's a least 3 more squadrons. But I want my swedish force to have about equal number of horse vs foot. So that means about 9 squadrons for every 3 battalions. So if I do 3 extra battalions, than 3 more squadrons aren't enough. I need 9 more!

Gunfreak according to your indication for my 4 Swedish battalion of infantry, I need to field 12 squadrons meaning that I must add 3 more ( new) squadrons. If you field this kind of Swedish force, in your opinion, how many enemies must you field?

Depends on the rules,
.
BLB 2 states 50-100% more.

50% I would use for danes or mabye saxons, Russian 100% I would so use.
Saxon are tricky, at times they show really good fighting skills and St others they just tuck tail end run.

How you go about those 50-100% is up to you. You could give the enemies lots more infantry. But equal number of cavalry. Or simply more of everything. If going for the pre 1710 period. Little if any artillery for the Swedes and a decent number of guns for the enemy. After 1710. Both sides should be more equal (in both troop quality, troop numbers and artillery.

Thanks Gunfreak! In the following days I will post in the gallery my third Danish Infantry regiment " Fynske" and also a Danish artillery battery.
I'm impatiently waiting for your next GNW production.

Looking forward to your Danes, I'll expand my danes when warfare releases those.

Right now I'm working on Russian horse grenadiers, Västerbotten and ingermannland. But also working on some HYW stuff. So unsure when new GNW units show up.
