Looking nice & bringing back memories! You might want to tone the number those grass tufts down a bit. When I visited Egypt some years ago, if you weren't in the immediate vicinity of Nile (often mere hundreds of meters or less) terrain was just sand. Monotone (single colored) sand, with variance provided by occasional rocky bits which were almost milk chocolate brown in color. |

Lonkka, You're right, the next bases will be less tuft loaded. I don't use frequently the pre-made tufts but after seeing the wonderful results obtained by other wargamers with their bases I guess that I went over enthusiastic. I was thinking to set up a table themed in the Delta with some Sea People incursions. When it comes to basing it's always a dilema. How You can decorate a base so it can blend in different set-ups. |

The more I look at them, the more I want to paint my old Atlantic minis again ! |

Phil, I understand you, even with their flaws, those old chaps give a nice result I've somewhere a few survivors made of orange plastic, from an original Atlantic box, bought in a supermarket when I was 9 or 10. Those are probably my first tries at painting. Somehow, I guess, I'm finishing something started a long time ago. |
