Great minds thin alike, Stew. My 1:2400 ships are based exactly like yours. The thick base gives the player something to grab rather than the masts and also affords a place to show the ship's name.

though those aren't my ships, they belong to the game host, but it made me also want to put more of a base on my own ships which are 1/1200.
