Currently in winter quarters….and preparing for a new campaign season in the spring. The King decides to have a "formal review" of his Hussar regts. outside of the Silesian village of Leuthen.

All eight regts. are there, including the 3 regiments that took no active part in the 1756 campaign.
The King conducts the review himself and can be seen riding in the front with various other Generals behind him.

In a couple of weeks there will be additional reviews for the Kurassier and Dragoon regts. These reviews will be much more involved because there will be a total of 25 regts. participating.

There are no reviews planned for the infantry.

How many people were involved in painting these armies??? This is just Prussian hussars – let alone the rest of the army and then their Austrian opponents.
Wow!

No infantry at all?! Surely at least the Pommeranian grenadiers?

The infantry are very, very busy getting into "position" for the campaign….the Hussars were all in Silesia for a reason…besides reviews!

A wonderful sight!

Astonishing. Need a lot of battle space to effectively manouever all this.
Next step, to get the villages so they quit looting sunny Italy and come back North after vacations.😋

Thanks everyone! All my SYW armies were painted by my wife and me. If you would like more info on the campaign go to my blog and review the 6 battles we had in the 1756 Campaign season. Main reason for the reviews is to practice manipulating the larger regts. I had 2 charges fail in the last "season" because of regts becoming "disordered"! 10 sqd regts take up a lot of room! As a result of the review I believe I will maneuver them as 2 battalions of 5 sqds each.
Cheers from Texas!

Wow! Just wow! What scale are these? Apologies but it's difficult to tell from the wide-angle shots.

All the figures are 6mm ADLER Miniatures and they are mounted 1 figure equals 10 "real men". So a sqd is 12 to 16 figures and a regt. is 10 sqds/120-160 figures. That is one reason why I do "reviews"….if you don't practice moving them…charging, retiring, etc. then don't complain when they are "disordered"!
Next review will be for Kurassiers and Dragoons… 23 or so regts….about 2,200+ figures.
Cheers from Texas
