"Hot on the heels of new images of the first two models in Eaglemoss' Discovery Starships Collection, StarTrek.com have new released images of the first twelve ships due to feature in the model and magazine series, which should take us all the way through this year.

There's an almost even split of Starfleet and Klingon designs on the way, with the first three releases all being Starfleet, so they take slightly more slots. There's no running order yet for the rest of the series, but I would anticipate them doing what the original Starships Collection normally does, which is alternating between Starfleet and alien designs…"

Thanks for the link Tango! I like 3-4 of the Fed ships. The rest, not so much.

They're too expensive for my taste plus the Discovery ship is an AWFUL design and I would never buy it.

I couldn't agree more, Captain Gideon!

I'll give it a miss.

Yes, Eaglemoss has been enlarging the new releases (their "XL" editions) and increasing the price as well. The original size ships are much more affordable and have plenty of detail. I'm less likely to collect any of these newer ships due to the price.

The Discovery class ship is a re-work of Ralph Mcquarries concept art for the Enterprise he did for Star Trek the Motion Picture back in the 70's.

Here is a good article about the propossed movies in the 70's and his artwork.

A bad design is a bad design and the Discovery is a BAD design.

Not saying it isn't a bad design. I thought it was a bad design when I saw it back in 1976.

The Klingon ships all look like garbage and there are only two or three fed ships that are at best ok (although still jarring visually with the rest of trek canon unfortunately). No STD ship or any other Disco merchandise purchases for me. YMMV.

So, we've given up even trying these make it look like Eaves has run out of gas creatively, or the producers have mandated a complete break with the baseline of the design aesthetic that ran through TOS TNG and back to ENT

The kligon ships in discovery are some of the most fugley ships ever made in sci fi. And given just how cool the kligon ships in both TOS and TNG, it's a travesty.
