Which type of Space Marine chapters do you typically field in games of 40K? The 'big name' famous chapters, the 'regular' common chapters, or the truly obscure chapters? Or chapters of your own design? |

I have Crimson Fists (as the honorary posterboys of Rogue Trader), and my own chapter. I may paint the Primaris I got with the 8th starter box as a different, "official" chapter, too. I haven't decided yet. |

My favorite chapter have always been the Blood Angels so they are pretty main stream. But I always like to have a second founding chapter as well so I chose Black Templars for them. Finally I like to have a late founding chapter and for that I built Iron Snakes after reading Brotherhood of the Snake. This gives me access to two different, main chapters each with their own rules and a basic codex chapter that is an ultramarine successor. |

I've been drawn to the chapters of the Badab War since it first appeared in White Dwarf. One of my first RTB01 chapters was the Mantis Warriors. I recently revisited the Badab War using new miniatures (in as much MK VI Beakie armor as I can get my hands on) with the Forgeworld updated chapter color schemes. Mantis Warriors and Fire Hawks are my favorite, but I also have Red Scorpions and Astral Claws… I admit I have a problem. See here: thisveryblog.blogspot.com We use a modified form of the Betrayal at Calth board game, here: link |

Space Wolves have been my favorite and primary 40K army for over 20 years. Space Vikings! How can you go wrong. I also have Dark Angels (love to team them with the Wolves forcing two chapters that loathe each other to fight together.) I also have a Blood Angels Army and a Black Templar army and finally a vanilla Ultramarine army. |

Ultramarines (30k and 40k), Space Wolves(40k), and Word Bearers (30k) for me. |

I do mainly Ultramarines. But I have a Dark Angels force awaiting painting. And I also have Blood Angel scouts and Terminators for games of Lost Patrol and Space Hulk. |

My eldest son decided to repaint all his Ultramarines as the more obscure Angels of Absolution, but soon got bored with painting them. Now Blood Angels are his preference while I paint an army of White Scars using mostly oop models. |

Mostly school colors for DOM, SOM and various relatives. A few unique chapters such as The Space Marines of Madagascar.
And In-Retconned Pre IP Controversy Redacted Cannon …
Then I have a few buckets of Ultramarine painted guys who are less than canonical. And a bucket or so of Chaos Space Marines. Is it possible for CSM to be non-canonical?
… and some EM4 not-spacemarines. |

I'm only doing 30k Legions so I guess that would be "big name". |

I have World Eaters and Black Legion for my Traitor chapters. I have my own Space Marine chapter The Sons of America. Seen below:
I have wanted to do the Crimson Fists as an homage to the original RT days and currently have an renewed interest in the Dark Angels as I have always found their story in the fluff fascinating. |

My Rogue Trader days saw a couple custom chapters, to the tune of a squad each. Then came the more defined later editions. I bought across the board, but have since pared down most of the oddballs and now am concentrating on Blood Angels, with a side order of their Successors. |

I also will add a Bn of Black Templars to my EPIC SMs now … |
