Hurricane Harvey tried hard, but it couldn't keep us away forever!

We just moved the bed into the house. I guess that makes it official, right? The rest of the furniture will come in little by little, as we purchase it. My wife is very excited.

We do have lots of boxes coming in tomorrow, including the miniatures that did not get taken from me by the storm 4 months ago. We were lucky enough to have found a small room at a storage facility nearby, for what did survive.

The dogs look really happy to be back too.

It's also good to see a lot of the neighbors already coming back. It no longer looks like a ghost town around here.

Great news. I know what it's like to be out of the home for a long period of time. There is still a period of recovery coming, but the moving back in is a giant step in the right direction.

I cannot begin to imagine what you have been through, and the magnitude of the loss you incurred, but I know you are relieved to be back home. I hope everything returns to "as close to normal as possible" for you and your family quickly.

Here in the Middle Tennessee Bubble, we don't have hurricanes, and only rarely – very rarely – do we see tornadoes. Bad weather tends to veer off to the north or south for a reason I'm sure a meteorologist could explain, but is well beyond me. We are, however, a bit closer to the New Madrid Fault that I would like. Like the song says, "When the house is a'rockin'…

Yeah. I was starting to feel very nostalgic about getting back, like ET.

Can you send a little warm air north? I am sick of this below zero weather.

Excellent news. Now you have no excuse from slacking off on your design and conversion work. So get crack'in. grin

Dave

Seriousily, that is great news and I know both of you are very, very relieved.

Good for you. Don't envy having to start again. Makes me grateful that I live halfway up a steep hill (except at this time of year when stopping at the main road at the bottom is like playing Russian Roulette).

Thanks so much guys.

I guess the wife can't wait for the stuff in storage. We are bringing everything home!

The house is full of people helping out.

The neighbor's little girl came over to play with our dogs. They've missed each other a lot. Too cute to watch.

Life is good today, for us at least. A very humbling moment.

Hey You03 Jan 2018 5:38 p.m. PST

Glad to hear you are moving back home. We were spared the damage here in North Houston, but glad to hear of more people getting back to some normality.
